How Shopping.com Works

When a shopper goes to Shopping.com, they search for the item they want to buy. Seller's items are then shown on the search results page and each result links to the seller's website. When a shopper clicks on a result link they are taken to the seller's website and the seller is then charged the amount selected when they listed their items with Shopping.com. Listing is free and you only pay when a shopper clicks through to your own site.

When you get started with Shopping.com, you set the price you want to pay for each visit to your site. Your product listings are then published to Shopping.com, including information about your store, your policies and your prices. Your listings then appear in the results when shoppers search for items.When a shopper clicks your link in the search results and is taken to your page, the amount you chose per site visit is deducted from your Shopping.com account.

Your website's integration with Shopping.com helps you create a Product Bulk File Feed that can be submitted to Shopping.com. First, you have to add products to the product list. Then you export the file to Shopping.com.

To Add Products:

  1. Click 'Edit Store' -> 'Marketplace' -> 'Shopping.com'.
  2. Click 'Add a Product'.
  3. Your catalogs will be listed as links. Click on the catalog that you want to select products from.

  1. You then see a listing of your products in that catalog. Click on the product you wish to list on Shopping.com.

  1. On the next page, you need to fill in your product details. Start by choosing a category to list your product in. Click the 'Choose Shopping.com Category' button.

  1. In the window that pops up, click on the category that applies to your item.

  1. You'll be redirected to the original 'Add a Product' page. Complete the product information and click 'Save'.

IMPORTANT: Do not edit the Product URL or Main Image URL as this is automatically inserted for you. all other information may be edited.

You now have to create and export your product list.

To Create/Export a Product List:

  1. Click 'Export a Product List' on the left of the Shopping.com page.
  2. You'll now see a list of the products you just added. Check mark the ones you want to list on Shopping.com and click on the 'Export' button.
  3. You'll now see a URL in a white box below your product list. Copy the URL, as it is the Product Bulk Feed File that you need to set up in your Shopping.com account.
