On the main newsletters page, your visitors will see the publish date, the title of your newsletter and the summary which is optional, along with the subscription signup box. Your visitors can then click on the newsletter title to see the whole newsletter.

1. Adding a Newsletter Page

  1. Under the 'Edit Site' tab, click 'Add Page'.
  2. Click 'Newsletter'.

  1. Name your new page. This name is what will be shown in your navigation menu.
  2. Enter a 'Page URL'. This creates the individual webpage address for that page. TIP: Use keywords or words that reflect the content that will be on that page.

By default, the 'Check to show this page in your navigation menu' box is checked. If you do not want the page to show in your menu, uncheck the box.

  1. Click 'Add Page'.

You'll then be on the editing page.

2. Editing Your Page

Any time you want to make changes to your page:

  1. Click the 'Edit Site' tab.
  2. Click 'Edit' beside the page you want to edit.

Or, if viewing the page you want to edit, click 'Edit Page' on the toolbar.

You'll then be on the 'Header & Footer' section of the editing page.

Text that you put in the Title and Subtitle fields will be displayed at the top of your page, with the Title text also being automatically used as your Title Tag. For more information about Tags, please read Page Title, Meta & Head Tags.

The Header and Footer appear above and below your list of newsletters once they're added. To edit the header and footer, add and make changes to text using the text editor and click 'Save Changes' when finished.

3. Adding a Newsletter

  1. Within the editing page, click 'Add Newsletter' on the left.
  2. Add your newsletter information.

Please note that your newsletters are always in plain text. This is because not all email software are set to accept code.

  1. You have three send options to choose from. You can:

Save as Draft - which doesn't publish the newsletter to your website or send it to subscribers.
Publish on your Website - which doesn't send to subscribers.
    Publish and Send Newsletter

  2. Once you've decided your sending option, click 'Save'.

4. Managing Newsletters

Once you've created your newsletters, you can edit, delete, or change the status (send, re-send, publish, unpublish) of them at any time.

  1. Within the editing page, click 'Edit Newsletters' on the left.
  2. To edit or change the status of your newsletter, click 'Edit'. Make sure to save your changes.
To delete a newsletter, click 'Delete' to the right of the newsletter you want to delete.

When changing the status, you will have a variety of options depending on whether the newsletter is a draft or has been sent. Draft newsletters will offer the same status options as a new one. Sent newsletters offer the following options:

Save as Draft - Saving your newsletter as a draft will remove it from your website without deleting it.
Re-Publish on your Website (Don't Send) - Re-publishing a newsletter will update changes of the published newsletter on your website.
Re-Send Newsletter Email to all Subscribers - Re-sending a newsletter will send the updated version of the newsletter to subscribers and publish the changes on your website.

5. Subscribing and Unsubscribing to Your Newsletters

Subscribing to Your Newsletters

On your Newsletter page, you visitors can enter their email address in the provided field to subscribe to your newsletter.

After the person subscribes, they are sent an email to confirm that they want to receive your newsletters. The person then just has to click on a link or copy and paste the link in their browser to do the confirmation.

Unsubscribing from Your Newsletters

At the bottom of all newsletters your subscribers receive, there is a link that they can click to unsubscribe. If you have several newsletters, the link will take them to a page where your customer can opt in or out of any of your newsletters at once. If they opt into any new newsletters, they again have to go through the email confirmation process.

6. Subscribe Box Location

By default, the subscribe box is shown on your newsletter page. However, advanced users may want to place the subscribe box on other pages of their website using HTML code. Moving the subscription box to other pages of your site, like the home page, may increase newsletter subscription.

To place your subscribe box on other pages:

  1. Click 'Options' on the left of the editing page.
  2. Copy the HTML code in the text field under 'Add the Subscribe Box to Other Pages'.

  1. Go as you would to edit the page you want the subscribe box to be on and paste the code into the HTML text editor. Make sure your text editor is set to HTML - if not, click the link above the editor to change it.
  2. Save your changes.

You can also opt to remove the subscribe box from the Newsletter page. Keep in mind that if you remove it and don't place in on another page, visitors will not be able to sign up for your newsletter.

To remove the subscribe box from the Newsletter page:

  1. Click 'Options' on the left of the editing page.
  2. Uncheck the 'Check to display the subscribe box on the newsletter page' box, under 'Hide the Subscribe Box' and click 'Save Changes'.

7. Managing Your Newsletter Subscribers

  1. Within the editing page, click 'Manage Subscribers' on the left.
  2. You will now come to a page where you see your confirmed and unconfirmed subscribers (see Subscribing to Your Newsletters regarding confirmation). You can also remove subscribers by check marking the box by their email and clicking on 'Remove Selected'.

8. Exporting your Subscriber List

  1. Within the editing page, click 'Manage Subscribers' on the left.
  2. Under 'Export Subscribers', select the format - CSV (Excel spreadsheet) or TXT.

  1. Then click 'Export'.
  2. You can then either open or save your export list.

9. Editing Your Title Tag, Meta Tag and Header Info

To help with search engine ranking you can customize your title, description, and keyword tags for individual pages. Advanced users can also place code between the <head> tags. This feature is available through the editing page under 'Internet Marketing' on the left of the editing page. To learn more, please read Page Title, Meta & Head Tags.

Alternatively, you can apply the same description and keyword tags site-wide, which is great if you don't yet have time to do them for individual pages. To learn how, please read Marketing Your Site: Meta Keywords and Meta Description.

10. Privacy Policy

When your visitors fill out your form, they will see a check box at the bottom to agree to your Privacy Policy. You can edit the Privacy Policy under the 'Edit Site' tab, by clicking 'Privacy Policy'. Note that the check box for the Privacy Policy is required to stay in compliance with US and Canadian government regulations.
